Google Apps Hacks

At the very end of January, I got an invite to contribute an expanded write up of my Google Calendar Map pipes mashup to a book of Google Office hacks...

And it appears that the book is now officially out:

I got a preview copy a week or so ago - and it's packed with some really neat tips, tricks and hacks (although such is the pace of change in Google apps land that some of the hacks have already been superceded!).

Whilst the book is listed on the Amazon US site, it's not made it onto the UK site yet - though O'Reilly are selling it in the UK.

Here's the list of contents.

The book itself was actually written in Google docs (as described here: Writing a Book in Google Docs) - I was sent a doc link and a couple of example hacks in the desired styling, and then edited the doc in full view of the book's main author, Phillip Lenssen, and the editor, Brian Jepson.

I know a couple of people in my dept are looking at the idea of compiling an edited book on the nature of information, so I'll maybe suggest to them that they take the Google docs route too...!
